As a doctor, I was humbled.
I am an MD endocrinologist prescribing metformin to hundreds of patients over 15 years.
Then my own HbA1c came back at 7.2. My fasting sugar was 128. I was pre-diabetic heading straight toward Type 2.
I was in shock. My own lifestyle — late hospital shifts, cafeteria food, stress eating, no exercise — had done to me exactly what I warned my patients about.
A colleague (another doctor) had completed the NL‑CR Shibir. He gave me the WhatsApp link with a smile: “Try it as a patient first, doctor.”
What I discovered astounded me. The NL‑CR protocol aligns with peer-reviewed circadian biology, gut microbiome research, and chrono-nutrition. It’s not woo-woo — it’s cutting-edge science applied with ancient wisdom.
Month 1: I cut refined carbs and sugar completely. Started 14:10 intermittent fasting. Added 4-colour plate diversity.
Month 2: My fasting sugar dropped to 105. Post-meal readings were under 140 for the first time in years.
Month 3: HbA1c came back at 5.6. My own lab — where I’ve sent thousands of patient samples — now had my name on a normal report.
I’m now off metformin completely (with my own monitoring). I’ve started recommending NL‑CR to selected patients alongside standard care.
This is the future of preventive medicine. And it costs nothing.
